Gigolo and Gigolette by William Somerset Maugham -- Review

The main characters of the short story "Gigolo and Gigolette" by William Somerset Maugham face the choice where many circumstances merge together: the fear of death, love, and self-sacrifice.  Society is cruel, the public wants to see something that tickle their nerves. The ending of the story can't be classified as happy or unhappy. It carries the idea about the power of love which can lead ... to death.
