Girl By Jamaica Kincaid - Review

The very short story “Girl” by Jamaica Kincaid is based on a conversation between a mother and her daughter. The mother, speaking with brutal honesty, explains to her daughter the expectations that society sexpects of her as a woman.

She explains to her daughter the importance of cooking, cleaning and entertaining. The author also addresses questions about gender equality in this story.
