The story “Human Intelligence'' by Kurt Andersen is told through the perspective of an alien who has come to earth as an observer. The alien expected to be replaced by another of his kind after a few years but is instead forgotten and left on Earth. He had to adapt to life among primitive people. He wants people to finally know the truth about him.

The story contains a kind irony and nostalgic sadness. The author leaves the ending open.
